we have many festivals.Among them Tihar or deepawali is one of them as the hindus are rich in rituals,Thihar falls after Dashain in the end of October.During this festival birds and animals are also worshipped.it is the festival of lights too.everybody is cleaned properly.
Deepawali is also called tihar .it is known as Bhaitika in some places.thus the term deepawali tihar and bhitika refer to the same festival.this festival is generally celebrated for five days ;so it is said yamapanchak .during this festival some animal birds gods and goddesses are worshiped by offering foods to them .on the second day dogs are worshipped.similarly we worshiped cows on the third day.on the second or third day goddess laxmi is worshiped.she is believed to the goddess of wealth.people worship the oxen on the fourth day.furthermore self is also worshiped on this day.the fifth day is called Bhaitika;on this day sister offer tika variously-coloured marks on the forehead of the brother.the brother are also provide sweet fruites and other special food items.this is the very few about nepalese festival Bhaitika.
